DSC_0318Reduce, reuse, and recycle — that was the theme of a life science project in Miss Williams’ second grade class this past month as the students created robots out of recycled materials. “We have been learning about the importance of protecting the earth’s habitats and conservation is one important way to do that,” said Miss Williams. Each robot includes at least three different types of recycled items and is colorfully decorated with paint or markers. The students voted for their favorite robots, which also were given a name by their designer. Pictured above are the top three class winners (from left):  Shelby Tomlinson, with her robot, Rose (2nd place); Chloe Jeon, with her robot, Flowery, that has a neck that moves (3rd place); and Isabella Santos, with her robot, Sally, that moves with a remote control (1st place).
