It was Immigration Day in Mrs. Hoover’s 4th grade class on June 9 as students gave presentations on the melting pot that is America and the diverse heritage of our citizens. A variety of countries were featured in the presentations, including Armenia, Egypt, Guyana, Ireland, Italy, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico. The students were encouraged to dress in traditional clothing and bring a sample of food from their chosen country. The month-long history project also required the students to interview a friend or family member to learn about their roots and to do on-line research on their country in the ACS computer lab.
