Congratulations to senior Aine Dorsey for winning first place in this year’s ACS Christmas Card Art Design Contest! Her original artwork is featured on the cover of our school’s 2024 Christmas card, which will be mailed to ACS families, friends, and supporters. Aine’s design, created using acrylic paint markers, colored pencils, and felt-tip micron pen on cardstock, depicts a Christmas ornament with a nativity scene. The scripture verse from John 1:14 included in her design reads:
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The ACS Christmas Card Design Contest is now in its 8th year. A faculty-staff panel of judges selected Aine’s design as the first-place winner from over 14 submissions by art students in grades 9-12. In addition to Aine, four other students were recognized for their outstanding designs:
2nd Place: Billy Winkel (9th grade)
3rd Place: Chelsie Richards (9th grade)
Honorable Mentions: CJ Delacruz (9th grade) and Noah Raffaele (9th grade)
A special thank-you to art teacher Genevieve Huff for overseeing this annual contest, which gives our students the opportunity to use their God-given artistic abilities to create designs that are visually impactful and share the Biblical message of Christ’s birth.
The top five Christmas card designs will be displayed throughout December and January on a large bulletin board in the main school hallway near the Multi-Purpose Room. Leading up to Christmas, we will highlight one card each day on Facebook and Instagram.
