Our 3rd grade students have been busy learning about photosynthesis, the amazing process God designed that allows plants to make their own food. To help them understand how sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide work together to help plants grow, students created hands-on projects that showed each step clearly. Some students built detailed dioramas, while others designed colorful poster boards to share what they learned.
Walking through the hallway outside the 3rd grade classrooms, you’ll see bright suns, leafy plants, soil layers, water droplets, and even labeled diagrams showing how plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Each project is unique, and together they create a beautiful gallery of learning and creativity.
These photosynthesis projects were completed in all three 3rd-grade classes taught by Mrs. Rebecca Valerio, Mrs. Laura McCarthy, and Ms. Kira Murdock. Teachers shared that students enjoyed discovering how God uses sunlight to help plants make energy, and how this process supports all living things—even us!
Students were excited to present their work in class and explain the science behind it. Their effort, creativity, and understanding shine through in every project on display.
Great job, 3rd graders!
