On Thursday, November 13, Atlantic Christian School welcomed and honored around 45 veterans from every branch of the U.S. military during our Veterans Appreciation Chapel. It was a meaningful time for our students and staff to express gratitude to the men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication.

The program began with the Presentation of Colors by ACS Boy Scout Troop and Cub Pack 389. Eighth grader Gabrielle DiSciascio offered a beautiful trumpet performance of The Star-Spangled Banner, setting a reverent and patriotic tone for the morning.

Students from several grade levels also shared songs of gratitude and praise, including the Upper School Choir, 1st Grade, 5th Grade Worship Team, and the High School Worship Team. Their voices reflected heartfelt appreciation for our veterans and the blessings we enjoy because of their service.

We were especially blessed by our guest speaker, MSgt. Philip Douglass of the U.S. Air Force, who shared about his experiences in the Air Force and the many ways he saw God’s hand of protection throughout his years of service. He encouraged our students with the promise found in Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

To close the program, tenth grader Matthew Coates led us in prayer, lifting up our veterans and giving thanks for their sacrifice.

We are deeply grateful to every veteran who joined us today. Thank you for your service, your courage, and your commitment to protecting our freedoms.
