Congratulations to ninth grader Jennyfer Loaiza-Riveros, who earned first place in this year’s ACS Christmas Card Art Design Contest. Her original artwork is featured on the cover of our 2025 ACS Christmas card, which was mailed to ACS families, friends, and supporters.

Jennyfer’s design, created with colored pencils and permanent marker on cardstock, portrays Jesus in the manger surrounded by angels. Her artwork beautifully reflects the message of Scripture:

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
— John 1:14

The ACS Christmas Card Art Design Contest is now in its ninth year. A faculty and staff panel selected Jennyfer’s design as the top entry from more than 22 submissions by high school art students in grades 9–12.

In addition to Jennyfer, the following students were recognized for their outstanding designs:

  • Second Place: Tri Nguyen (9th grade)
  • Third Place (tie): Nadia Pearson (11th grade), Isabella Merlino (10th grade), Chloe Merrill (9th grade)
  • Honorable Mention: Jackelyn Berges (6th grade), who submitted an entry even though the contest is open to high school students only

A special thank you to Art Teacher Genevieve Huff for leading this annual contest and encouraging students to use their God-given creativity to share the message of Christ’s birth through art.

All student submissions are displayed on a large bulletin board in the main school hallway near the Multi-Purpose Room throughout December and January. In the days leading up to Christmas, the top six designs will also be highlighted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
