ACS students had the opportunity to gain real-world career experience during the Job Interview Workshop (Mock Job Fair) held on Tuesday, May 12, in the MPR. Arranged by High School Business Teacher and Mock Trial Coach  Rhapsody Hahn-Chaney and Guidance Counselor Christina Ragland, the event gave students practical experience and helpful insight into professional career settings.

During the second period, 40 students from the College and Careers, Life Skills, and Principles of Management classes participated in this interactive workshop designed to help students build confidence and prepare for future careers.

Students rotated through a variety of career field stations every four minutes, allowing them to experience mock job interviews in areas connected to their personal interests and future goals. Career fields represented included Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources; Arts, AV Technology & Communications; Business, Management & Administration; Architecture & Construction; Education & Training; Finance; Health Science; Hospitality & Tourism; Human Services; Information Technology; Law, Public Safety & Security; Transportation, Distribution & Logistics; Manufacturing; Government & Public Administration; Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics; and Marketing, Sales & Service.

In addition to the interview stations, students visited workshop tables where they learned important professional skills such as how to tie a necktie, give a proper handshake, and sign thank-you card to follow up with interviewers. Two local business owners also fielded questions at the table dedicated to entrepreneurship. These hands-on activities provided practical tools students can use in future interviews, internships, and workplace settings.
