Registration for the ACS Mock Trial team is now open! Upper school students can register online now through October 23rd via the new ACS Mock Trial website, click here.
2023-24 marks the third consecutive year Atlantic Christian School will be represented in this prestigious statewide competition. Last year, the ACS Mock Trial team won our first match in the school’s history. Guided by teacher-coach Mrs. Rhapsody Hahn-Chaney, we are positioned to secure another victory this season and move beyond the first round.
In a few weeks, our team will begin studying the new case and practicing to argue against other schools at the local courthouse this winter. The new case is centered around college admissions fraud and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
While the verdict is delivered by jurors, the winning side is determined by judges, based on a scoring system. Only 9-12th grade students are permitted to act as lawyers and witnesses at the trial, but 6-8 grade students are invited to join our team and serve as members of the jury.

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
After school practice sessions are typically 1-2 hours long and are held in the Computer Lab, Annex Room 180. Lawyers have a bigger job than the witnesses but everyone will need to study the case and practice at home in addition to working closely with the team until we compete. Hot chocolate and tea is always provided and shareable snacks are highly recommended!
Updates will be posted on the team’s Google Classroom, so be sure to get access once you’ve registered for ACS Mock Trial. Email communication will also be utilized. If you have any questions about the mock trial program, email rhahn-chaney@acseht.org.
