Exciting things are happening in the Music Department at Atlantic Christian School! This year, Mrs. Liz Henigan has continued to expand music opportunities for students, helping them discover the joy of making music together.

The 5th Grade Ukulele Program is in full swing once again, giving students the opportunity to sing and strum as they learn to make music in a fun and rewarding way. The students will showcase their new skills during One Christmas Night in December.

New this year, Mrs. Henigan has introduced a 6th Grade Piano Lab, where students are learning the basics of note reading, rhythm, and playing simple songs while building confidence and creativity at the keyboard.

The Upper School Choir also continues to grow in both size and skill as students come together to develop their vocal talents and blend their voices in harmony. The choir will be performing at various events throughout the school year.

In addition, Mrs. Henigan teaches a Music Lab/Instrument Ensemble as an Upper School elective, where students have the opportunity to hone their creative skills. Some students in this class will perform at One Christmas Night and compete in the Teen Arts Festival later this school year.

Mrs. Henigan shared, “I’m so proud of how our students have embraced music this year. My vision is for the music program at ACS to keep growing, offering every student the chance to explore their creativity, build confidence, and share their God-given talents.”
