Samuel (Sam) Glancey
During his 8 years at ACS, Sam was a friendly face around campus, involved in a lot of activities, including playing on the Varsity Soccer and Basketball Teams and competing in track. He’d always try helping me steer in the right direction, handing down wisdom I needed to hear, while also maintaining a positive, if not bizarre (in a funny way) look on things at times. Without him, I feel that I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
ADVICE TO UNDERCLASSMEN: I’m gonna miss ACS. I’ve had my ups, my downs, but in the end, it’s the reason I’m who I am today. It’s where I’ve surely made friends for life, and memories I’ll cling onto for as long as I can.

Hunter earned his Eagle Scout rank in August 2022 with Boy Scout Troop 389, which is chartered by ACS. He also received Personal Training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and competed in national powerlifting meets. I can only hope one day to be half as kind and loving to others as he has been to me.
ADVICE TO UNDERCLASSMEN: Do as much school and homework during the school day as you can. Sports, jobs, and every other distraction will get in the way once you leave school. Plus, you can have more time to do what you want.

Mr. Carney has been the basketball coach while I managed and has been key to my high school experience. Both teachers treat us with respect, like we are adults, which I think is a very important thing.
ADVICE TO UNDERCLASSMEN: Stay out of trouble and know that your teachers are there for you and care about you. It took me a long time to realize this, but being disrespectful is not funny and these teachers only want to pour into you and help you.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU ATTENDED ACS: 9 years
FAVORITE TEACHER AND WHY: Mr. Delacruz is my favorite teacher because he has helped me out of a dark time in my walk with Christ and my time in high school during my junior year. He is a good representation of the hands and feet of Jesus and helped strengthen my walk with the Lord.

She also served on Student Council in middle school and high school, was a School Ambassador, and was President of the Senior Class. Reyna asked to share an additional message — “The Bible verse that has spoken the loudest to me this year is 2 Corinthians 12:9, which says: ‘My grace is sufficient for you; for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Even when we are weak, God is always strong. She always has fun adventures and ideas planned for all of us on the Varsity Girls Basketball Team, and I know whenever I am upset or sad, she will be there to pick me up. Her advice never fails me and her jokes and laughter always bring me joy. Everything about Coach is the best and I am forever grateful for the blessing that she is to my life.
