Celebrating the 2025 Servant’s Heart Award Recipients

At Atlantic Christian School, we believe true greatness is found in serving others, as Jesus taught in Matthew 23:11—”The greatest among you will be your servant.” Each year, we honor individuals and organizations who reflect this Christlike spirit through our Servant’s Heart Award.

We are pleased to announce the 2025 recipients whose selfless service has been a blessing to our school community:

AtlantiCare – Healthy Schools, Healthy Children Program

For over a decade, AtlantiCare has provided generous health and wellness support to ACS—funding projects like our greenhouse, water bottle stations, new PE equipment, and more. Their instructors have also brought engaging health education into our classrooms, and their commitment to student and staff wellness truly reflects a servant’s heart.

Joe and Amanda Wyzen-Gregory

Joe and Amanda have consistently served our school with joy and generosity—donating food, time, and expertise for school events and our high school culinary class. Their faithful support, including sponsoring athletic banners and helping with food distribution, shows their deep care for ACS.

Brenda Maurer

Brenda has been a faithful volunteer in the cafeteria, library, and at many school events. She and her husband have also blessed our students by sponsoring scholarships for graduating seniors. Her consistent, quiet service is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love.

Frank and Elaine Santo

This faithful couple has covered our school in prayer each month and encouraged our community through spiritual support. Elaine also leads GEMS (Girls Empowered for the Master’s Service), mentoring young girls in biblical identity and purpose.

Philip Senseney

Philip serves ACS faithfully as a dependable bus driver and behind-the-scenes helper. From vehicle upkeep to assisting with school systems, he is always willing to lend a hand with a humble heart.

We thank God for each of these recipients. Their example inspires us all to serve with love, humility, and joy.

Early Education Hosts “Muffins with Mom” to Celebrate Mother’s Day

On Friday, May 2, ACS’ Early Education program celebrated Mother’s Day a week early with the “Muffins with Mom” special activities.

Students in our PK2, PK3 and PK4 classes welcomed their Moms with pompoms and excitement as they entered the beautifully decorated event space for the tea.  The children helped get their mom some muffins and had a sweet snack with them.  Each class then sang a special song for the Moms.

One of the Early Education Aides took pictures of the Moms and their children and then they had playground time with each class.  Each Mom had received a special gift from their child as well.

There were lots of smiles and tears of joy as ACS honored the Early Education Moms.  This will be a special day to be remembered for years to come.

Moms, we love you and are so grateful for all that you do for your families.

THANK YOU!

ACS National Honor Society Welcomes Sixteen New Members

Sixteen high school students were honored for their excellence in academics, leadership, Christian character, and service at the Atlantic Christian School’s National Honor Society induction ceremony on March 25. This year’s event marked the 13th anniversary of the NHS chapter at ACS, which was established in 2012.

The following students were inducted into the Honor Society:

10th Grade Students
Ashlee Alford
Lily Boyle
Logan Campsmith
Sophia Capito
Aiden Cortes
Mackenzie Flynn
Garrett Martin
Gianna Mitchell
Alexander Newhall
Luke Odell
Isabella Santos
Kalee Tardif
Nathanael Thompson
Ethan Warren

11th Grade Students

Mrs. Christina Ragland, ACS National Honor Society Advisor and Guidance Counselor, welcomed an audience of approximately 100 family members, faculty, and guests. She praised the inductees for their dedication and perseverance and led a prayer of blessing over them. To be eligible for membership, students in grades 10-12 must uphold a strong academic record with a minimum 3.8 GPA and demonstrate excellence in leadership, Christian character, and service.

Senior Sophia Johnson, the NHS chapter president, guided the inductees through the traditional ceremony, which included reciting the Honor Society pledge, signing the official chapter registry, and lighting a candle to symbolize their commitment. Upper School Principal Gail Alford presented each new member with a certificate recognizing their achievement.

Senior NHS members also played a key role in the ceremony, sharing insights into the spiritual meaning behind the Honor Society’s four core principles. The student speakers were Taylor Sutton (on scholarship), Gabriella Goodwin (on leadership), and Makayla Tomlinson (on both Christian character and service). The ceremony’s guest speaker, Mr. Christian Ragland from AtlantiCare, encouraged the inductees to lead with integrity and make a difference in the world. He shared the words of Minor Myers, Jr.: “Go into the world and do well, but most importantly, go into the world and do good.” He also reminded them of their calling as followers of Christ, quoting Mark 16:15: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

A Night of Friendly Competition at the 20th Annual Volleyball Tournament

The 20th Annual ACS Intramural Volleyball Tournament brought a fun and high-energy evening to our gym on Friday, March 14, drawing a great crowd of students, families, alumni, and friends. Over 75 players took part, making it a great evening of friendly competition and school spirit.

Twelve teams from grades 8–12 faced off in this year’s tournament, each bringing their best to the court. After several exciting matchups, the Pink Panthers came out on top, earning the championship title. The team—made up of six high school students: freshman Caelyn Domsic; sophomores Ethan Costello, Zion Dawkins, Mackenzie Flynn, Jude Gibbs; and Isabella Santos—defeated The Daily Grind, who took second place.

The tournament was organized by PE teachers Kaylee Breunig and Jesse Peterson, who did a fantastic job planning and running the event from start to finish.

A big thank-you goes to all the volunteers who helped make the evening run smoothly, and to everyone who grabbed a snack or drink at the Cougar Den. Your support helped raise funds for the ACS Cheer Team!

A Special Night for All at the Butterfly Ball

The ACS gym was filled with smiles, sparkle, and celebration on Friday, March 15, as over 250 girls and their guests gathered for the annual Butterfly Ball. This special event, hosted by the Senior Class, welcomed girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade for an evening of food, dancing, and fun.

Guests enjoyed a buffet-style dinner before the fun continued with music, dancing, and games. A photo booth captured sweet memories, while face painting and butterfly crafts added a creative and colorful touch to the night.

The Butterfly Ball also served as a fundraiser for the Class of 2025, with proceeds supporting their upcoming senior trip. A big thank you goes to the senior class, and their parents who prepared the delicious dinner and helped make the night a great success.

A link to download the photos will be emailed to the families who attended the event.
