One Month to Go: Let’s Get Ready to Race for Education!

Our 24th Annual Race for Education is Friday, October 30—just one month away! All students, from Pre-K through high school, will hit the track for a day of fun and school spirit as we work together toward our $55,000 fundraising goal. Every donation supports Christ-centered education and our mission to impact, nurture, and equip students to reach the world for Christ.

Families, you can help us get a strong start! Share acsracefored.com with grandparents, relatives, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Send a text, share on social media, or invite your church or a local business to sponsor your student. A simple invitation can make a meaningful difference!

There are exciting prizes to work toward, too! The class that raises the most in total donations can earn a class outing to Get Air Trampoline Park or King Pin Bowling, and the top fundraising class in each school division can win an ice cream party. Individual student incentives include Cougar Paw and Sneaker posters, lap winner certificates, dress-down days for K–12 students, and special Early Ed medals.

New this year: A PS5 or a laptop computer worth up to $500 joins the student grand prize choices! The student who raises the most in sponsorship donations will choose from these new options or a Storybook Land or OC Waterpark season pass, an Apple Watch, or AirPods. Food, Fellowship, and Cougar Victories: A Joyful Back-to-School BBQ

What a blessing to begin the school year together! Our Back-to-School BBQ brought the ACS family together for an evening of food, fun activities, and fellowship. Families caught up with friends, made new connections, and cheered on our Cougars—with both Varsity Soccer teams earning victories that night.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make the evening possible. A special thank you to our Board of Directors for grilling and serving, our volunteers for giving their time, and everyone who generously donated food and supplies. Your willingness to serve helped create a welcoming evening for our school community.

The happy faces in these photos remind us of God’s goodness and the blessing of belonging to the ACS family. 

ACS Gathers for See You at the Pole

Our ACS community came together for a special morning of worship and prayer during the national See You at the Pole event on Wednesday, September 23. Although rain moved the gathering indoors, students, teachers, staff, and parents filled the gym to pray together.

The High School Worship Team opened the morning with worship. Participants then gathered in groups to pray for our students, teachers, school, community, and nation.

This year’s theme verse reminded us of Christ’s invitation:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28

Save The Date! April 4 – Game On! Mother-Son Game Night

Join us on Saturday, April 4 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm for Game On! Atlantic Christian School’s 1st Annual Mother-Son Game Night. Open to boys from Kindergarten to 5th grade, the cost is $35 per couple (mother and son) and just $10 per additional son. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 20th.

Students Compete for Awards in Middle School Science Fair

Excitement was in the air at the Middle School Science Fair on March 6 in the ACS gym. A team of judges reviewed 50 projects and chose the top three entries from the 6th, 7th and 8th grades.

“We are very proud of the efforts of all of the students,” said Middle School science teacher Celine Melody, who organized the fair along with middle school teachers Caitie Lee and Amy Parker.  “It’s been a number of years since we held a Science Fair so this year was our relaunch,” Melody said. “We are looking forward to next year when we will  have some of our students move on to participate in the Jersey Shore Science Fair at Stockton University. ”

In the 6th and 7th grades, students worked in teams, while 8th graders prepared individual projects. The science project counted towards the student’s science grade.

High science teacher Dave Genter, who was one of 10 judges, commended the students for doing an excellent job on their oral presentations to the judges. “The students showed that they are developing their thought processes and scientific skills and have a keen curiosity about the world around them,” Genter said.

March 28 – Christian Skate Night

The ACS Freshman Class is hosting a Christian Skate Night skating party on Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Young’s Skating Center (763 Park Road, Mays Landing).

ACS families and friends are welcome to attend. Tickets will be available at the front desk starting next week and will be $8 apiece. The ticket price at the door will be $10 per person. There is an additional fee for skate rental. All proceeds to benefit the Freshman Class.

Tuition Assistance Grants Now Being Accepted Online, From February 1 to May 1

ACS is pleased to once again be able to offer Tuition Assistance Grants to families with children enrolling in kindergarten through the 12th grade and the online application process opens today, February 1, on the ACS website. The deadline to apply is May 1. Families must be current on their account to be eligible for tuition assistance for 2019-2020. We praise God for the donations that have made it possible to fund this program that gives families with financial need access to a quality Christian education at ACS. The tuition grants are being made possible through designated gifts from the John F. Fuoco Testamentary Trust and the John C. Allen Charitable Trust.

FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment will conduct the financial need analysis for ACS.  Families applying for tuition assistance must complete a FACTS application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment.  There is a non-refundable $30.00 application fee.

Tuition assistance on a needs-basis will only be awarded to returning families who have completed re-enrollment and paid the registration fee or to new families who have submitted an Application for Admission and paid the registration fee by the May 1 deadline. Applications from new families who apply after the May 1 deadline may be considered if funds are still available.
