The High School Varsity Soccer Teams are off to an exciting start this season, showcasing both skill and determination on the field. Led by a strong group of seniors, both the Boys and Girls teams have demonstrated a great balance of experience and fresh talent.

Varsity Girls Soccer
The Varsity Girls have had a strong beginning, recording 3 wins and 2 losses. In their victories, they have shown exceptional offensive prowess, scoring a remarkable 28 goals while allowing only 2. One of the highlights to date came on Tuesday, September 24, when they faced Gloucester County Christian. In a thrilling match where Gloucester took the lead three times, the girls showed incredible resilience. With just 23 seconds left in the game, Freshman Caelyn Domsic netted the game-winning goal, defeating GCCS 4-3.

Varsity Boys Soccer
The Varsity boys have put forth a solid performance, starting the season with 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie. Last Friday, September 20, ACS tied conference rival King’s Christian School 0-0 in double overtime. Sophomore goalie, Ethan Costello, had 9 saves during that nail-biter. As the team continues to build chemistry and confidence, they look forward to the rest of the 2024 season.
Both Varsity teams have significant away games scheduled for September 30 against The Pilgrim Academy, where they will aim to build on their early season successes.
Stay tuned for more updates and support our Varsity teams as they continue their journey this season!

Cougars’ Basketball is in full swing with six teams playing in this 2018-19 season. Congratulations to the High School Varsity Boys’ basketball team, under head coach Dan Carney, for beating Gloucester County Christian School this week at home and remaining undefeated with a 6-0 record and in first place in the Tri-State Christian Athletic Conference at this half-way point in the season. Tuesday’s game against Gloucester was a real heart stopper, with forward Cole Johnson sinking a 3-point shot with 3.5 seconds left in the game that tied the score and sent the game into overtime. ACS went on to win in overtime, 59 to 56. Johnson, finished with 14 points, joined by other outstanding contributions from forward Landon Shivers with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 blocks, and point guard Ben Noble with 16 points.
Thank you to our ACS basketball coaches and parents for participating in our winter 2018 Coin Drop fundraiser on Saturday, December 1. Dressed in festive Christmas hats, the ACS representatives greeted drivers at the intersection of Zion Road and Ocean Heights Avenue from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., asking for donations to support our middle school and high school athletics program. In just six hours, the coaches and parents collected $2,083.52 from our generous community members.
