Introducing ACS Intensive Concentration Programs for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors

We are excited to announce the new Intensive Concentration Programs at Atlantic Christian School, offering hands-on learning experiences for our high school students. These programs will take place every Wednesday, either on the ACS campus or through a partnership with The PATHS program at The Pilgrim Academy’s Bethel Campus.

For students participating, it’s important to note that any missed work from regular classes must be made up. A study hall will be available for students to catch up on their assignments and focus on their studies.

Culinary Arts
Our Culinary Arts program prepares students for careers in the hospitality and food service industries. The first year focuses on foundational skills such as food preparation, sanitation, nutrition, and basic baking. Students will also gain experience in dining room service, menu planning, purchasing, inventory management, and more. Throughout the program, they will have the opportunity to showcase their skills by participating in school and community catering events. In the second year, students will deepen their knowledge and continue developing their competencies. The teacher for this course is Chef Joe Wyzen-Gregory of Gregory’s Restaurant & Bar.

Sound Engineering & Technician
This program equips students with the skills to manage a full stage performance, from setup to breakdown. Students will learn about stage electronics, acoustic principles, microphone techniques, console theory, multi-track operation, and the art of mixing. They will complete the program with a thorough understanding of both the technical and creative aspects of sound engineering. The teacher for this course is Mr. Jasen Mitchell of Master DJ and Sound LLC.

PATHS Programs (held at Bethel Campus, The Pilgrim Academy)
Construction
Students in the Construction program will learn to work with wood and develop skills in building, repairing, and remodeling. They will also learn how to calculate quotes, meet with clients, source materials, and collaborate with specialists on construction projects. This program offers a comprehensive introduction to the construction industry.

Automotive Technician
The Automotive Technician program trains students in vehicle diagnostics and repair. They will gain experience using advanced tools to enhance engine performance and repair various systems, including transmissions, brakes, steering, and air conditioning. In addition, the program emphasizes the importance of customer service, preparing students to explain repairs and suggest maintenance to clients.

These programs are an incredible opportunity for students to develop real-world skills in a supportive, faith-based environment.
