Celebrating the Completion of Our New Commercial Kitchen

ACS recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of our new commercial kitchen. This exciting project was made possible by the generous support of an anonymous donor, the Sykora Family Charitable Foundation, and the ACS Parent-Teacher Fellowship. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated supporters who share in our vision for growth and innovation at ACS.

Leading this transformative project was Mrs. Carole Karabashian, who spearheaded the effort from September 2023 to August 2024. Her leadership guided the renovation of the former warming kitchen into a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. During the ceremony, Mrs. Karabashian expressed her gratitude to the approximately 30 skilled professionals and contractors, as well as over 20 ACS staff and volunteers, whose hard work made this project a reality.

Since opening in August 2024, the new kitchen has already been put to great use by our Culinary intensive class, under the expert instruction of Chef Joe Wyzen-Gregory from Gregory’s Restaurant in Somers Point. In addition to our intensive Culinary class, the kitchen supports high school elective cooking classes and an after-school cooking program with Mama Sanchez, expanding our students’ learning opportunities.

We are so thankful to everyone who contributed to this project. We look forward to the amazing educational opportunities this new kitchen will provide for our students for years to come!
