See You at the Pole — Parents, Students, Staff to Gather Outdoors for Prayer, Worship on Sept. 28

Atlantic Christian will hold a special time of group prayer and worship before school around the school’s flagpoles as we participate in the annual national “See You At the Pole” event on Wednesday, September 28. Family members are welcome to join our students, faculty, and staff from 7:30-8:15 a.m. as we pray for our school, our local community, and our nation.

The activities for the event are being organized and led by the high school Student Council and will include a time of worship and prayer.

For the last 31 years, hundreds of schools across the nation have held “See You at the Pole” events for one main purpose — to give students an opportunity to unite themselves in prayer before God to intercede for their generation. Please join us around our flagpoles!

ACS Students, Staff, Families Come Together to Prayer at See You at the Pole

Several dozen students, faculty, staff, and family members gathered for a time of prayer around the ACS flagpoles as part of the annual national “See You At the Pole” event on Wednesday, September 22. The morning gathering before the start of school began with singing led by staff member Kelly Flynn. Students and adults then took turns leading out in prayer as the the group lifted up our school, community, and nation.

Teachers from preschool to high school were also encouraged to bring their classes out to the flagpole area throughout the day during Bible class for a time of prayer.

Four flags can be seen flying daily in the flagpole area on the school campus — the American flag, the Christian flag, the New Jersey state flag, and the POW-MIA flag.

Since 1991, See You at the Pole has grown into a international annual event focused on prayer on school campuses from elementary schools to colleges. Now each year, an estimated 1 million students from all the world participate in See You at the Pole. Students in more than 64 countries have participated.

ACS Students, Staff Gather to Pray for See You at the Pole Event

Groups of ACS students and staff gathered throughout the day on September 23 near the school flagpoles to pray for our school, our community, and nation as part of the annual national “See You at the Pole” event.

Elementary students gathered for chapel near the flagpole and spent time praying and praising God in song, led by students in the 5th grade worship team.

Middle school and high school students gathered at the flagpole during their Bible classes, praying, reading Bible verses, and talking about the power of prayer.

The event, now in its 30th year, was usually held before the start of school and included participation from ACS families who could choose to attend. However, to ensure the health and safety of our students and families in light of the coronavirus, the event was modified to be held during the school day and involving smaller groups of students and staff gathering at different times.
