The students in Mrs. Capito’s 1st grade class found a creative way to show their appreciation to some important community helpers — their mail carriers. During the weeks before Christmas, the students wrote notes in class to say thank you for a job well done and left the notes with a candy cane in their home mailboxes for their mail carriers. “It’s all about showing the students things they can do to make someone else feel loved and appreciated,” said Mrs. Capito. The class activity was just one of the ways ACS teachers are helping students put into practice this year’s spiritual development theme — “Actions Speak Louder,” which is based on James 1:22 that  says — “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
