The students in Mrs. Fosbenner’s 3rd grade class recently completed a history project on famous Americans, past and present, who have made significant contributions to our country. Each student read a biography or autobiography on a person they admired for their accomplishments and gathered facts about their lives. The students then wrote a short report and created a “Character Can,”  dressing their can as if it were the main character of their book. Finally, the students presented oral reports, with their Character Cans, on their chosen famous American. The character cans are now on display in the hallway outside their classroom. “It was a joy to see my students inspire one another with their oral reports,” Mrs. Fosbenner said. “A number of students decided to read more biography books just for fun from our school library simply because they heard their classmates share about the interesting lives of those famous Americans.”
