ACS teachers have been working hard this past week preparing their classrooms to be a warm, loving, and welcoming place for their students.  From Monday to Wednesday, teachers and staff attended in-service training and workshops where they had an opportunity to get acquainted, review school policies and procedures, and focus on this year’s spiritual development theme — “All In” — based on Mark 12:30. On Monday, Chief School Administrator Karen Oblen introduced members of the Board of Directors (pictured above left), who provided breakfast that morning, and welcomed and introduced the 13 new employees who have joined the ACS faculty/staff this year (pictured below).

Each in-service session began with worship and devotions. Business Administrator Kelly Flynn, Development Assistant and faculty member Lee Martin, and Facilities Director Bill Smallwood provided inspiration and encouragement through prayer and worship. Middle school and high school teachers received two days of hands-on training on using Chromebooks in the classroom, in preparation for a new Chromebook educational initiative this year. Event Coordinator Jessica Martin oversaw the preparation of healthy breakfasts and lunches.  We’re ready for an exciting year of growing and learning.
