When jealousy comes — pray, remember the good things God has done for you, and rejoice in the blessings that others received. This was the core message that Mrs. Kiefer’s 5th grade students shared in Elementary Chapel on Friday, September 27, which included showing a video of skits they had created. The chapel’s message was building on the 2019-2020 spiritual development theme that encourages our students to be transformed by the renewing of their mind — to think Biblically and thereby live differently.
Over the past week, the 5th graders wrote and acted out four original skits that depicted real-life scenarios when jealousy can occur. In the skits, the students put into practice the best, Biblically-based ways to react and set aside those jealous feelings. Mrs. Kiefer took videos of the skits, which were shown during chapel.
5th grader Mia Morales also used her artistic talents to create a poster, which has been distributed to hang on the walls in our 1st to 5th grade classrooms as important reminders of how God wants each of us to cope with jealousy.
