National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society

In an effort to recognize and encourage academic achievement while also continuing to develop exemplary character, leadership, and service among our students, Atlantic Christian became part of the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society in the fall of 2012. Both Honor Societies have an established reputation for excellence within the academic community. This reputation is the result of years of commitment to student achievement.

Membership in the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society is both an honor and an obligation. Students in the 7th and 8th grades may apply for membership in the National Junior Honor Society by meeting the 3.5 minimum GPA requirement and demonstrating outstanding character, leadership, and service. Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades must have a 3.6 minimum GPA to apply and have the requisite character, leadership, and service qualifications. Separate induction ceremonies are held during the school year for students entering the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society. Through various Honor Society Chapter service activities, members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection.

The process for obtaining membership in the National Honor Society or the National Junior Honor Society begins by submitting an application in February that will be reviewed by a faculty council. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Christina Ragland at cragland@acseht.org.
