Rising Christian country music recording artist, Daryl Boyer, was the featured speaker at the 6th-12th grade chapel on Friday, September 27, where he shared his testimony about how he found his identity in Christ and led the students in a powerful time of worship, including him performing one of his original songs entitled “King Jesus.”

Boyer’s message to the students and to several dozen ACS parents who also attended the chapel, focused on the importance of finding our worth and identity in Christ and not in our own accomplishments or achievements.

Boyer described how he spent the early part of his life in Nashville seeking to build a career as a musician, but had not committed his life to Christ. He was struggling with alcoholism and depression.

“I had wrapped up my entire identity in succeeding and making it in the music industry and when things didn’t go the way that I had planned, I started spiraling downward,” Boyer said. When he finally cried out God, Boyer said he was delivered “on the spot” from his addiction to alcohol and turned his life over to Christ.

Since then, Boyer has written and recorded two original songs that have hit the #1 spot on the Christian Music Weekly Christian Country chart. His most recent #1 single — “Running Down Revival” ‘– was released in March and his first #1 single — “Never Looking Back” — held the top position on the CMW Christian Country chart for 24 weeks in 2017-2018.

Boyer now also has a special link to ACS. He is a new ACS parent. His wife, Steffanie, is the new After-Care Director, and their daughter, Leah, is enrolled in the 7th grade.
