Congratulations to three of our outstanding 6th graders — Allison Amadio, Eva Kim, and Michaela Schlemo — who made it all the way to the Babe Ruth World Series Softball tournament in Florida this summer as members of the 10U Egg Harbor Township All-Star Tornadoes. The Tornadoes were one of 16 teams in the 10U division who earned a spot to the coveted tournament which was held from July 28 to August 5. Our ACS students made strong contributions to the team — Michaela as a pitcher, Allison as catcher, and Eva as shortstop. Michaela and Allison both earned special recognition, each receiving the Ron Tellefsen Player of the Gal Award in two different World Series games. We look forward to seeing them play on the ACS Middle School Softball team this year.
We’re glad to share news from several ACS alumni who recently had exciting opportunities to share their faith and grow in their chosen career paths. Alumnus Jake Mouliert (’16) interned at Crossroads Fellowship Church in Pleasantville and delivered the Sunday morning sermon for their Family Day service on July 30. Jake is a sophomore at Lancaster Bible College majoring in counseling. He and fellow alumnus Lydia Dice (’16) spent last year in the Lancaster Bible College’s One Life Institute, where they did ministry outreach in Philadelphia, South Carolina, and on a native American reservation in New Mexico. Alumnus Lydia Schalles (’15), who is now a junior majoring in international business at George Washington University, spent this summer as an intern in the Washington, DC office of Rep. Frank LoBiondo, where she was also involved in a Capitol Hill bible study.
We will be praying for former ACS parents Cory and Dawn Bird and their children Micah, Justus, Cami, and Cori as they make preparations to serve in the mission field in Bercy, Haiti. Mrs. Bird, who was an ACS preschool teacher for the past six years, joined by her children, came out to say final good-byes on the first day of school. The family will be leaving next week for training in Colorado and will leave later this year to serve for two years in Haiti as missionaries with the Life Song for Orphans ministry. May God bless you as you impact the people of Haiti for Jesus Christ.
