ACS students, teachers, staff, parents, and grandparents gathered to pray and worship God in song outdoors before the start of school on September 27 as part of the national “See You at the Pole” event. Due to rain, the special time of prayer was relocated from the flagpole area to the front entrance of the school building. Staff members Kelly Flynn, Lee Martin, and Bill Smallwood opened the event at 7:45 a.m. with several worship songs. Over the next half hour, the group grew in size to over 80 people. Students and adults took turns at the microphone to pray, many asking for God to bless and guide our school, our community, and our country’s leaders.
