ACS “Be The Light” Talent Show Highlights Student Gifts and Creativity

The ACS “Be The Light” Talent Show, held Friday, March 20, an exciting  evening of creative and fun performances as 18 students shared their God-given talents on stage. The show was hosted by Mrs. Kelly Flynn and her husband, Michael, and featured an exciting variety of performances—from singing and instrumental pieces to acrobatics and comedy.

The evening opened with a group number, “We’re All In This Together,” and ended on a powerful note with the song “Champion.” During intermission, sophomore Isabella Santos gave a beautiful vocal performance of “Trust in You.”

Our panel of judges—Katie Alvis, Emily Perkins, David Santos, and Saita Perkins—had the tough job of selecting winners from such a talented group of students. Congratulations to the following students who received awards:

Elementary Division

1st Place: Brooklyn Bynum (4th Grade) – Piano and Rap, “Let’s Have A Good Time”

2nd Place: Nora Wigglesworth (3rd Grade) – Vocal Performance, “The Truth”

3rd Place: Juliana Hammie (5th Grade) – Vocal Performance, “Hallelujah”

Upper School Division

1st Place: Rosalie Campbell (7th Grade) – Vocal and Piano, “Loyal”

2nd Place: Parker Maxwell (7th Grade) – Vocal Performance, “Could Have Been”

3rd Place: Megan Connolly (7th Grade) – Vocal Medley, “The Rise and The Climb”

The Peer Award, chosen by the performers themselves, was presented to 3rd grader Nora Wigglesworth.

Our Annual Talent Show is Coming Soon!

Get ready for the Be the Light Talent Show on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the ACS School Gym.

Students, do you want to showcase your talent? Auditions will be held as follows:

– February 24 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for Grades 3–5

– February 26 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for Grades 6–12

To make your audition go smoothly, please bring any items you need for your act, such as music tracks (on a USB or digitally), props, costumes, or instruments. Join us! Be The Light Talent Show – March 13

You’re invited to our talent show on Wednesday, March 13th! Join us for an evening filled with performances by our wonderful students. The show starts at 6:00 pm in the ACS Gymnasium. Admission is $5 for students and $8 for adults. Proceeds will benefit our Arts Department. Bring your family and friends for a night of entertainment and to support our talented performers! Showcase Your Talents at Bowls of Hope – Auditions Jan. 16

We are looking for students who are willing to share their God-given talents and perform at the Talent Show to be held during the Bowls of Hope Soup Cook-Off on Saturday, February 1 in the ACS gym.  Auditions for the Talent Show will be next Thursday, January 16, starting at 3:15 p.m. Please sign up at the ACS Front Desk by Tuesday, January 14.

Mark Your Calendar for February 1 Bowls of Hope Soup Cook-Off Benefit

Mark your calendar for the 7th ACS Bowls of Hope Soup Cook-Off Benefit to be held on Saturday, February 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the school gym. You won’t want to miss this enjoyable and entertaining evening of good food, fellowship, a student Talent Show, a Silent Auction, and a canned food drive — all to benefit ACS, the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Southern Branch.

The Bowls of Hope benefit and canned food drive will be spearheaded by our high school students, giving them an opportunity to support ACS and bless our local community by selling tickets to the event, volunteering during the Bowls of Hope, and encouraging family and friends to donate to the canned food drive. An email with information about the Bowls of Hope will be sent to the parents and guardians of high school students next week. Information about Silent Auction Classroom Baskets that our PreK4-8th grade classes will be creating for the Silent Auction will also be sent home next week.

The Bowls of Hope will feature some 20 area restaurants and chefs serving up their signature soups. For one ticket price, those attending will have the opportunity to sample the soups and vote for their favorite. The canned food drive will kick off next week and continue through the night of the Bowls of Hope to benefit the Community FoodBank.

Tickets and Event Sponsorships will be available for purchase starting on Friday, January 10, in the ACS school office, from any ACS high school student, or online. Tickets will also be sold at the door that night.
