So proud of senior Dakota Hitchner, point guard on the Lady Cougars Varsity Basketball Team, who received special recognition over the past week for her outstanding athletic accomplishments. She was selected by area public and private high school coaches to be an All-South Jersey All-Star and played in the All-Star game on March 18. DJ is the second ACS Lady Cougar basketball player to receive this honor. Alumnus Shereesha Richards ('12), who is now playing for a professional basketball team in Spain, was named an All-South Jersey All-Star in 2012.

DJ also received special recognition on March 18 in the Press of Atlantic City as they named their top picks for the "Press Girls Basketball First-Team All Stars." DJ will be continuing her basketball career with a full scholarship at Kings University, an NCAA Division II school in Bristol, Tennessee. Congratulations, DJ!

Congratulations to our Upper School students who presented an uplifting sacred concert on Tuesday night. The concert featured performances by our Middle School and Upper School Chorales and the Upper School Concert Band and Woodwind Ensemble. This video clip features the joint chorales performing "He Never Failed Me" with 6th grader Tommy Ellison as soloist. Thank you to Brian McSee and Kelly Brown, the Directors of the Chorales, and Band Director Shirlene Perini for your hard work preparing the students for this concert. We're looking forward to hearing a select ensemble from the High School Chorale perform at our 4th annual Legacy Gala next Friday. ... See MoreSee Less

Happy St. Patrick's Day! In celebration of St. Patrick, an Irish saint who helped share the good news of Jesus to the people of Ireland, elementary students today dressed up in green and participated in a variety of fun educational activities. They made and sampled Irish potatoes and for a math counting project created fruit-loop rainbows. Other students learned about the concept of the trinity using a shamrock. One class searched for gold coins after learning about Jesus' Parable of the Lost Coin.

Earlier in the week, Mrs. Capito helped her first grade students recognize how "lucky" they are by asking them to write down one person worth more to them than gold. Most of the students chose God and then wrote down their reason. Their combined writing and pot of gold art project is now on display on a hallway bulletin board.
