THE BOOK FAIR IS ON -- Book sales will get underway tomorrow for our Scholastic Wild West Book Fair. The school library will be open to families from 1:30-5:30 pm on Wednesday, from 3:00-4:30 pm on Thursday, and Friday from 11 am-1 pm. The Truth That Rocks Bookstore will also be on site on Friday selling Christian-themed books. Elementary students visited the school library Monday and today to preview the books on display and create their wish lists.

Participating in the Book Fair encourages our students to read and a portion of the proceeds benefits ACS educational programs, such as for purchasing library books, projectors, iPads, and other technology in our classrooms, subscriptions to Scholastic News for our K-5 classrooms, and much more.

LET'S SADDLE UP AND READ -- Students and staff came to school today dressed up as cowboys and cowgirls to kick off next week's Scholastic Book Fair with its Wild West theme of "Saddle Up and Read." Eleven students selected from each elementary class competed during lunch in a "Best Dressed" contest and 4th grader Sophia Costello took top honors.

To add to the fun, preschool and elementary students engaged in Western-themed activities during recess, including freeze dancing to cowboy-themed music, relay racing with stick horses, and tossing bean bags into cowboy hats. Students and staff donated $1 to participate in the Wild West Dress Down Day and the proceeds are being given to a Scholastic fund that will help schools affected by the recent hurricanes. Hope to see lots of students and families come out next week to our school library for the Book Fair.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE RACE -- Thank you to our donors, volunteers, parents, and friends who helped make our 14th annual Race for Education on October 27 a success. We're proud of every student from preschool to the 8th grade that participated. Donations are still coming in for the Race for Education, with the goal of raising $25,000 for the school’s educational programs. Please CLICK on the "DONATE" button on this Facebook page to help us reach our goal.

Each elementary class wore brightly colored team T-shirts named after a dozen different Bible action heroes from the Old and New Testaments, including Adam, David, Esther, Paul, and Peter. Middle School students had a “Color Run” Race experience as they were doused by colored powder as they ran around the track. The Race was a great ACS family event and we thank you for your support.
