Students in the 10th and 11th grades who are interested in being accepted into the National Honor Society must submit their completed application packets by next Friday, October 4. The application packet and four recommendations should be hand-delivered to Middle School teacher Mrs. Coates, who is the NHS advisor, by no later than noon on Friday.
New candidates will be selected for membership by a Faculty Council and must demonstrate academic achievement as well as outstanding character, leadership, and service. The Induction Ceremony into the National Honor Society will be Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the ACS gym.
ACS first established its National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society chapters in the fall of 2012. Since that time, 36 high school students have been inducted into the National Honor Society and 65 middle school students have been inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. The application packet for 7th and 8th grade candidates into the National Junior Honor Society will be due Friday, October 25.
