DSC_0090Atlantic County Superior Court Family Division Judge W. Todd Miller visited our 8th and 10th grade history classes before speaking at an assembly for our Upper School students.  Judge Miller talked about the judicial branch of the US Government and about his role in the Family Division. The students then asked several questions about resource parenting, reunification issues, and the court itself. The Judge also worked with the students on a worksheet on the Due Process clause in the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. Ms. Amy Young, Law Clerk, and Administrative Specialist Ms. Sarah Chavez, were also present for this visit. Chavez talked to the students about staying open to career choices and explained that she didn’t decide to go to Law School until she had been a teacher for 10 years.
During the assembly, the students played Jeopardy to reinforce what they learned from the presentation. The categories included US Courts, NJ Courts, Government, and facts about schools.
