The second grade students in Ms. Vogel’s and Mrs. Williams’ classes competed in a Spelling Bee this week. Each class battled it out separately and then sent its top three finishers to the final round. Representing Ms. Vogel’s class were Leila Alobeidy, Gabriel Capito, and Liam Larkin. They faced off against Matthew Coates, Jason Remlein, and Colton Carney from Mrs. Williams’ class. Leila Alobeidy finished in first place, taking home the gold medal, with Matthew Coates earning the  silver, and Colton Carney earning the bronze.
Class competitions are great warm-ups for the all-school Spelling Bee next spring that will determine the ACS representative to the Scripps South Jersey Regional Spelling Bee on March 3, 2018.
