On March 8, students in grades K-5 sampled green smoothies during lunch as they participated in “Green Mustache Day,” a fun annual activity that promotes healthy eating. The smoothies, that included fresh kale, bananas, and apples, were blended up by the students in Mrs. Lewis’ middle school cooking class. ACS participated in Green Mustache Day as part of its membership in the AtlantiCare Healthy Schools, Healthy Children program. Some students who tried the green smoothies had their pictures taken with their green mustaches. ACS will be submitting three photos to be entered into a drawing with AtlantiCare and one lucky student may win a $25 VISA gift card.
