Students in Mrs. Melody’s 6th grade science class created colorful, 3-D edible models of plant and animal cells for a class project presented this Wednesday. The models were made out of sweet treats like candy, cake, rice krispie treats, and icing. The models had to include identification of the parts of the cells, called organelles, and their functions. Students were also required to do a written report with details about the structure and critical role of all the parts of their chosen cell.
