The Middle School Boys soccer team, under the guidance of Coach Silas Nixon, began their season with a challenging matchup against Pilgrim, resulting in a 2-0 loss. Coach Nixon stressed that the first game provided an excellent opportunity for the boys to identify areas of improvement and refine their skills. Yesterday, they defeated Gloucester County Christian School in an 8-0 shut out. With their spirits undeterred, the Middle School Boys are now geared up for an exciting season ahead, eager to demonstrate their growth and determination on the field.

In a testament to the growing interest in soccer at ACS, this year saw an impressive turnout of 30 students trying out for the Middle School Boys soccer team. Starting this year, we are introducing an intramural boys soccer team coached by ACS school parent Greg Domsic. This initiative will provide those not selected for the competitive team with a chance to continue honing their soccer skills and stay actively engaged with ACS Soccer. It’s a great way to nurture a love for the sport and ensuring that all interested students have an opportunity to be a part of the ACS soccer community.

Meanwhile, the Middle School Girls soccer team, coached by Becky Pineo, began their season with an impressive 5-0 victory over Pilgrim. Yesterday, they also achieved a 7-0 victory over Gloucester County Christian School. The girls’ performance showcased their hard work, and dedication on the field. This set a strong start and set a positive tone for the season. The Middle School Girls have established themselves as contenders, and it will be exciting to watch them compete this October.

Come out and support them at their games this week: On Wednesday, the Boys will be at home vs Somers Point Middle School and the Girls will be away at Somers Point Middle School.
