What a wonderful way to start the school year! Our 19th annual Back-to-School BBQ on Friday, September 15th was a lot of fun. Parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and alumni parents all came together to enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship.

There were plenty of activities for everyone there, including face painting, Ga-Ga ball, 9-square-in-the-air, and several inflatables. Master DJ & Sound provided Christian music through the night. Everyone had a great time on the wagon ride provided by Sleepy Hollow Family Campground, whose owners are ACS alumni parents.

In addition to cookout style food, we hosted some special food trucks. Every attendee received a free ticket to Kona Water Ice to enjoy. Families also could eat Chef Steve’s Popcorn and funnel cake. The Parent-Teacher Fellowship also had treats and SpiritWear sweatshirts for sale.

We want to extend our gratefulness to the parent volunteers, including the Board members and PTF leaders, as well as our wonderful faculty and staff. They worked hard at the grill, served in the buffet line, volunteered in the kitchen and game locations, and donated food. Special thanks to the Pearson family for their delicious pulled pork contribution.

Last but not least, we want to express our gratitude to the following businesses for generously donating food and services: Bimbo Bakeries, Big Time Vending, United Rentals, Herr’s, Driscoll Foods, Elite Fleet Catering, and Gregory’s Restaurant & Bar.
