The Atlantic Christian School Diversity Chorale Concert on March 21 was especially meaningful this year as the directors drew upon Psalm 19:14: May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to Thee, O’ Lord.”

The concert opened with the 33-member band performing three pieces. The second one, entitled “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms,” featured a duet with 8th grader Joshua Darragh playing the flute and band student Chloe Griffith on clarinet. The 12-member Upper School Wind Ensemble later played three songs, one entitled, “He Knew My Name” written and performed by freshman band student Elyssa Griffith.

Forty-eight members of the Middle and High School Chorales performed songs with a sacred praise and worship flair. “My Soul Finds Rest – Psalm 62,” which combined scripture with music, featured 8th grader Joshua Darragh on flute. This song was specifically chosen so that, in the difficult times of life, the lyrics will come to the hearts and minds of listeners and fill them with strength and power.

Don’t miss their next performances! The Middle School/High School band concert will be performing on Thursday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m., and you can catch the Middle School and High School Spring Chorale Concert on Tuesday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m.
