ACS is currently home to 14 international students from Belgium, China, South Korea, and Taiwan during this 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to welcome several new students at the end of January for whom we are seeking host families.
Please prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to open your home to an international student. Many of our host parents develop long-lasting relationships with their students and often keep in touch with them after high school. We hear reports each spring of host parents attending their international student’s college graduation! This means that you can have a lasting impact for God’s kingdom on a student who might not otherwise hear the Gospel or experience life with a Christian family.
You should include your student in normal family routines, including regular meals together, Sunday church attendance, and trips to local attractions. Host families are expected to provide students with transportation to and from school (if a bus is not available) as well as social activities in the evenings and on weekends. There is a monthly stipend provided to reimburse you for your expenses.
